- Shell V-power is suitable for petrol engine vehicles
Shell Ghana Limited said on Wednesday that Shell V-Power, the new advanced formula fuel that it had introduced, was suitable for all petrol-engine vehicles and spiked claims that its quality had been stepped down.
In a statement signed by Mr. Lawrence Anuseh, Retail Sales Manager, Shell denied that it initially imported Shell V-Power with a high octane-97 but this had dropped Octane-95.
“We have presented our advanced formula as a 95-octane fuel, and the standard has remained consistently so,” he said.
“It is worth noting that all V-Power imports into the country are sampled and tested independently by the Government’s authorized agencies,” Mr Anuseh added.
He described as untrue allegations that vehicles must run at a certain speed level to benefit fully from the V-Power Fuel.
“Indeed the fuel is very beneficial to a car even when it is not moving because it enhances the smooth performance of the engine at cold start and ensures a smoother movement when you are taking off.”
Mr Anuseh said technical information on V-Power was available at all designated service stations and advised members of the general public not to hesitate to ask their attendants for such literature.
Shell V-Power is an advanced, metal free, unleaded fuel designed to help protect engines from corrosion by forming a protective layer over vital engine parts to prevent them from rust.
The Shell V-Power also meets the strict Euro IV fuel specification.
