Delegates to the Convention People’s Party congress in Kumasi are still voting to elect a presidential candidate and other party officials.
`
As at 6 am on Monday morning, delegates from the Northern Region were still voting. That had to be suspended because in the estimation of the Electoral Commission, there was some form of impersonation.

The Commission therefore decided to rely on the original electoral list that it supervised during the party’s regional congress held at Tamale sometime this year.

As at 6.30 am, delegates from the Upper East Region were cued to cast their votes.

Delegates who spoke to the Ghanaian Journal were disappointed at the organizers of the programme, maintaining “this is the worse form of delegate congress in the history of the CPP” and had wished that the entire executive was voted out during this year’s congress.

Voting started as late at 8pm on Sunday after a lengthy speeches and felicitations by the executives of the party.

‘We came here Friday and till date we have yet not finished voting, we have to go to work on Monday, why should this happen, our leadership lacks effective planning’ said a delegate.

That’s why the national executives of the party should give way for a new team to emerge. And these mishaps are expected from such a disorganized bunch. May God help the CPP.Thank you very much. FORWARD MY PEOPLE
