Management of the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel have stated their preparedness to accommodate football fans arriving in the country for the African Cup of Nations which kicks off this month.
Speaking at the 2007 end of year party and Awards Night for staff of the hotel, the Hotel Manager, Raphael Aryiteey, noted that facilities at the hotel have been upgraded to provide uncompromised comfort to its clients. He said the hotel can now house over a thousand guests.
“We are ready for the Ghana 2008 and all the other international conferences that will take place this year,” he added.
Mr Aryiteey mentioned the role the hotel plays in helping alleviate poverty and also promote tourism in the country. He said Management is fully committed to the training and retention of its staff. He said as a result of this, a new Human Resource Unit has been established which has resulted in a tremendous increase in staffing.
The overall best worker award went to Eric Adjei, who took home a big multi-purpose fridge. The second and third positions were taken by Gabriel Tisomah and Isaac Amissah respectively. For their prizes, they took home a home theatre and a 21 inch colour television.
