The Association of Northern Residents in Kumasi has added its voice to the call on Nana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, NPP presidential candidate, to choose Alhaji Abubakr Sidick Boniface, Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, as his running mate.
In a statement jointly signed by Mr Patrick Asiedu, chairman and Abdul Rashid Seidu, secretary, and issued in Kumasi on Saturday, the association said Alhaji Boniface had unique features in politics that cut across the entire political divide and could therefore attract floating voters for the NPP.
It enumerated the contribution of Alhaji Boniface as a Member of Parliament for Salaga and a minister and his choice as a running mate would ensure a landslide victory for the NPP in the December election.
The statement said Alhaji Boniface helped many children to obtain scholarship to continue their education and also restored confidence in thousands of helpless youth, especially in the Zongo communities, by securing them jobs, some of which were under the National Youth Employment Programme.
It said while not preaching ethnicity or religion, the choice of Alhaji Boniface would inspire, motivate and bring the Zongo people closer to the NPP.
It said Alhaji Boniface had shown that he was a peace maker who had helped to maintain peace in Salaga and the Northern Region as a whole.
