CPP will reclaim lost territories in the Volta Region!

Published: in Top Story

The CPP’s Presidential Candidate Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has said in Hohoe after a tour of three constituencies in the Volta Region that the Party will reclaim lost territories by winning parliamentary contests in the region. Dr. Nduom was in Hohoe South, Akan and Buem constituencies as part of his community-based campaign to announce the return of a strong, independent and competitive CPP to Ghanaian politics.

In Kadjebi in the Akan constituency, Dr. Nduom and his team met Nana Ogyeabour, the Omanhen, Mallam Muniru, the Moslem community leader, Emmanuel Tsogbe, the Ewe community leader, and Emmanuel Salao the Yoruba community leader and other community leaders in one meeting and then met GPRTU leaders and drivers to listen to their expectations. He rounded off his visit to Kadjebi by interacting with the market women and speaking to people gathered at the lorry park. The aspiring Parliamentary Candidate of the CPP Rashid Alao was introduced to the people amid great enthusiasm as he was given a great reception. In the Buem constituency, the team went to Jasikan where they met Nana Aburam Akpandza the Paramount Chief of the Buem traditional area and other community followed with the visit to the GPRTU and the market to interact with the people.

In Hohoe South, there was a jubilant return of the CPP to Ve Deme. A Town Hall meeting was held which had community leaders, market women, the youth, religious leaders and Togbe Dehume VII the Vice President of the Volta Region House of Chiefs participating. The participants asked a lot of questions about development in the town, the sorry state of the local market and the strength of the Party. One of the elders asked the CPP not to be like others who come to win votes and then forget about the people when they get into government.

Dr. Nduom asked the people to consider their situation to that of a bank since their region was considered the “world bank” of another political party. He told them that if a bank lends money repeatedly to one customer who does not pay back principal and interest, that bank will go bankrupt. Therefore, he said that the people of the region need to find another customer, the CPP who has a proven track record of paying the people their money back with interest to vote for in the 2008 elections.

One smashing comment for this post.
