Alex Fiagome, Former Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club, returned a net score of 69, to win the Club’s May Medal Open Golf Championship played at Tema on Saturday.

Fiagome, who played 40 Back and 37 Front with a Handicap of eight, swang through a field of about 80 golfers to claim the title for the first time.

He was followed in the second position by Morgan Eshun with 73 net, while Joshua Peprah took the third position with 75 net.

The only two prizes in the Ladies category were collected by Florence Etwi-Barima who came first with 72 net and Grace Afriyie following with 83 net.

The one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition was sponsored by the Tema Country Golf Club.

Mr Kweku Okyere, Vice Captain of the Club praised the competitors for the sportsmanship exhibited and called on all to take active interest in the activities of the club.
