The Asante Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on Saturday organized a rally in Kumasi for the children’s ministry drawn from district churches countrywide.

The theme of the rally was to reach out to street children for them to have a sense of belonging, as well as draw them closer to Christ by evangelising to them.

Mr. Stephen Forkuo Kwarteng, President of the Asante Presbytery Children Ministry, said children were our gifts from God and that there was need to train them the way they should go in accordance with the gospel.

He said apart from the rally, there would be games, choreography and others involving about 2,500 children drawn from 28 districts in the country.

Reverend Joseph William Acheampong, Acting Presbytery Clerk and District Pastor for the Patasi Presbytery Church urged members of the children ministry to involve street children in the activities and not to shun their company.
