Support Group of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Nungua has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should not be overwhelmed by the crowd at their congress in Takoradi and think that they will win the December elections. They argued that the NPP has more to do than buy crowd to intimidate the NDC.

According to them, there is nothing the NPP can do to make the NDC lose track in getting to the presidential palace come 2009.

They claim that Ghana has grown over the years that the NPP can just use dubious means to win the coming election as the NDC is more vigilant to ensure that this year’s election is not rigged.

Speaking to the Journal, one of their leaders questioned that the NPP can not boast of any achievement since all their aims are from the roots and foundations made by the NDC, adding that NPP should try to tell Ghanaians the true economic situation in the country instead of pretending all is well.

They disclosed that the NPP has been noted to be the main culprit as far as buying vote is concerned and that the NDC will not sit back and watch the NPP rig this year’s election.

According to them they are not moved by the crowd since most of them are just there to see the musicians. To them the NPP has lost all their ideas as far as healthy politics is concerned, that is why they are using musicians to win vote for them.

To them this year’s election has more to do with maturity and that is what the NPP does not have that quality since they still behave like children in the new business.

They called on all the supporters of the NDC to rally round their flag bearer to make sure that the NDC wins the presidency.
