The Chief Executive Officer of Brong-Ahafo United Football Club, Mr. Charles Kwadwo Ntim, has denied allegations by some football fanatics in the Brong-Ahafo Region that the Club is being sponsored by a particular political party to secure qualification into the premiership.
“People are making such allegations without acknowledging the efforts of Management who have toiled to secure the Club’s qualification to the Middle League even with their scarce resources”, he said.
Mr Ntim in an interview with GNA Sports in Sunyani was emphatic that B.A United was not sponsored by any political party, nor does it belong to any political party.
“People should desist from reading any meaning into the Club’s qualification to the Middle League”, he added.
Mr. Ntim said supporters of the Club have the right to support or belong to any political party of their choice but that did not mean that the entire members of the Club belong to a particular party.
“People should stop creating confusion in the Club at this moment with such wild allegation of political affiliation”, he said, adding the Management of the Club has been managed with support from personalities including Mr. Kwadwo Yeboah Fordjour, Mr. Sam Bennett, Nana Yaw Damoah and Mr. Peter Nimo and the executive members.
The Chief Executive Officer stressed that the Club would not have been in any financial difficulties if it was receiving support from any political party.
“Some management staff have even threatened to resign from their posts due to non-payment of allowances”, Mr. Ntim said and appealed for support from the Club’s supporters, the Board and philanthropists in the Region.
In another development, the CEO cautioned Clubs that are in the habit of tapping the services of some of the Club’s key players to desist from the practice to avoid the wrath of management.
“The Club will not hesitate to take legal action against any such Club”, he said and said some of the targeted players include Twum Baiden, Seidu Dauda and Ransford Cudjoe whom he alleged are being baited by two unnamed big clubs in the country.
