Kotoko Fly Out To Face JSK
Posted by on September 16, 2008 at 6:05 pm in SportsAsante Kotoko left Accra this dawn for Morocco en route to Algers, Algeria, for Sunday’s second leg clash against JS Kabylie in a Group 2 tie in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Kotoko who defeated the Algerian club 3-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium last Saturday, are expected to spend the night in Rabat and move to Algeria the following day to prepare for the big game.
Operations Manager, Jerry Asare, told the Daily Graphic yesterday that Kotoko would be the first team in the group to win away from home and assume the leadership in the group.
Kotoko, runners-up in the competition in its maiden edition in 2005, losing to Ghanaian rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak, leapfrogged from the bottom of the table to the second position, albeit on goals difference, behind Tunisia’s Etoile Du Sahel on six points.
All four teams in the group have won all their home matches but Jerry Asare believes“in order to win the trophy, we must break the jinxâ€.
The Porcupine Warriors jetted out a highly motivated side, riding on the back of last Saturday’s victory while putting in place measures to forestall a crippling ego of complacency.
The Ghanaian league champions lost focus momentarily after taking a commanding 3-0 lead to allow the visitors to pull one back.
