Kumasi Asante Kotoko beat Second Division side, Ebony FC 2-0 in a friendly soccer match played at the Ridge Park in Kumasi on Sunday.
The match forms part of Kotoko’s preparations towards the 2008/2009 Premier League which is scheduled to kick off on Sunday, November 23.
The ‘Porcupine Warriors’ opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through newly-signed on player Stephen Manu and held on till the end of the first half.
Coach Morris Coleman of Kotoko brought in new set of players in the second half and Alex Asamoah increased the tally to 2-0 in the 70th minute when he connected a through pass from George Asare.
Ebony FC led by veteran Isaac Kwakye, formerly of Kotoko, made some incursions into Kotoko’s vital area but the defence stood gallantly and averted their dangerous moves.
At the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, AshGold drew 2-2 with Kumasi-based Kessben FC.
