Former Deputy Minister for Local Government and MP for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah says he will resign his position in parliament if his party, the NPP, does not discipline some constituency executives.

Mr Jumah is complaining about the lack of discipline by some members of the party which he believes must be checked.

In an interview with Citi News Parliamentary correspondent Richard Skyy, the Asokwa MP noted that if nothing is done about the situation, the outcome will adversely affect the party.

Adding that some of the people he is complaining about are in bed with the NDC thereby sabotaging the efforts of the NPP.

He said he had requested the party to constitute a committee to investigate the reports that some of the executives campaigned against him in the run up to the elections and also allegations that some of them demanded cash payments of numerous sums from himself and the party for participating in the activities of the party.

Hon. Kofi Jumah also noted that the various acts of indiscipline exhibited by the constituency executives should be subjected to the necessary disciplinary actions of the party.

He noted that if action was not taken to curb the growing indiscipline within some sections of the membership of the party, the chances of the party annexing political power in the 2010 elections were bleak.
