asamoah boatengThe former Minister for Information, Mr Asamoah Boateng, has condemned the close down of the Wa Campus of the University of Development Studies (UDS) and the sending home of  about 5,000 students.
He said, it would have been better if they had solved the problem amicably and allowed the students to stay on campus to learn, instead of sending them home, because the youth are the future leaders of this nation.
In an interview with Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” Morning Show, Mr Boateng said, information reaching him indicates that, some of the lecturers disagree with the authorities of the University regarding the closing down of the campus, adding that the administration needs to review its decision.
The Wa campus of the University Of Development Studies (UDS) was closed down at about 4.00pm on Wednesday, 25th February 2009, following allegations that, the students were engaging in a violent demonstration, because the school administration had suspended their SRC President and their secretary.
