AccidentAn articulator track carrying a heavy load of shear nut overturned and fell on a B.M.W. saloon car and a Nissan Trotro yesterday in the afternoon at about 3:15pm at Tantra Hill junction in Accra.

The articulator track with an Ivorian registration number was believed to be heading towards Accra with the shear nuts loaded from Burkina Faso to Tema Harbour on Thursday 25th February, 2009.

The B.M.W. saloon car was badly damaged as well as the Trotro with the registration number GS 2779Y.

Passengers and drivers in the three vehicles involve in the accident were seriously injured with blood oozing from the mouth and noses of the articulator driver and some passengers.

Although nobody has been reported dead, yet the accident was very serious.

Peacefmonline will follow up to bring you the details. But we appeal to the Highway authorities and the ministry of road and transport, to improve safety measures on the Tantra Hill junction, because this is not the first time such a serious accident has happened on that spot.
