The Knights win May Day Polo Championship

The Knights defeated the Bishops 5-1 to win this year’s May Day Polo championship played at the Accra Polo Grounds on Sunday.
     Rasheed Ibrahim set the Knights on the winning trail when he opened the scores a minute inside the First Chukka.

     He was on hand again to make it 2-0 for the Knights just at the end of the Chukka while Gordon Godalpas scored two more goals in the second Chukka with the other goal coming from Kwakye Dopua-Dei in the Third Chukka.

     The Bishops redoubled their efforts and scored a consolation goal through Yao Lee two minutes inside the Fourth Chukka.
     Mr Kwakye Dopua-Dei, Captain of the Accra Polo Club presented the magnificent May Day trophy to Godalpas who captain the Knights team.

     Mr Dopua-Dei called on corporate bodies to support the Club to train its junior members to enable them to develop their talents.
     He added that the 2009/2010 Polo season would begin in September this year.
