Staff of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Ghana Limited, were over the weekend taken through a healthy exercise in fun games organised by the bank to keep their bodies in shape to face future challenges.
Prior to the games, staff of the bank, including those in managerial positions, embarked on a jogging exercise dubbed “Jogging to Bond,” through some principal streets of the Cantonments area in Accra.
Staff of the bank competed in four sporting disciplines, including tennis and football
The games were climaxed by a football competition, which saw four departments of the bank competing for honours. They were Real Dan Addo, Mabel City, Athletico Odonkor and Nelly Castle.
Athletico Odonkor, after engaging Real Dan Addo in a marathon penalty shootout in the finals, was crowned the champion, having won 8-7. Athletico Odonkor had earlier outclassed Nelly Castle by a lone, while Real Dan Addo also piped Mabel City 5-4 on penalties.
Daniel Addo, Executive Director of UBA, explained in an interview that the motivation in organising such games was to bring together all staff of the bank as one family, to put them in good shape.
He said the fun games were also a platform for staff of the company to actively interact with one another, to renew their friendships.
The fun games were simultaneously organised in all regions of the country where UBA operates.
