Public Listed Banks And Their Total Assets

Total assets of banks are up. Total assets at Ecobank Transnational Incorporated rose from U$6.6 billion in 2007 to U$8.3 billion in 2008, up by U$1.8 billion (27%). At Ghana Commercial Bank, total assets rose from GHC1.2 billion in 2007 to GHC1.7 billion in 2008, up by GHC495 million (43%).

At Standard Charted Bank, total assets rose from GHC774 million in 2008 to GHC985 million in 2008, up by GHC211 million (27%). At Ecobank Ghana, total assets rose from GHC669 million in 2007 to GHC919 million in 2008, up by GHC250 million (37%). At HFC Bank, total assets rose from GHC163 million in 2007 to GHC379 million in 2008, up by GHC216 million (133%).

At Cal Bank, total assets rose from GHC236 million in 2007 to GHC339 million up by GHC103 million (44%). At SG-SSB Bank, total assets rose from GHC418 million in 2007 to GHC437 million in 2008, up by GHC19 million (4.5%). The banking industry is growing and the economy is growing, too.
