Parents and guardians have been urged to support teachers in the education and training of children to enable them to become responsible citizens.
Mr. Kwadwo Adjei-Dwomoh, Nkoranza North District Chief Executive, made the call when he addressed the chiefs and people of Bomini as part of a familiarization tour of communities in the area.
He reminded parents that quality education was the only worthy legacy they could bequeath to their children.
Mr. Adjei-Dwomoh urged them to invest in their children’s education and expressed worry that some parents shirked their responsibilities to their children, who ended up on the streets and engaged in social vices.
He said “Children are our assets and we need to ensure that they are brought up well as disciplined and useful citizensâ€.
Mr. Kwabena Kyeremeh, assembly member for the area, appealed to the assembly to renovate the three-classroom block of the local kindergarten.
He commended the assembly for providing the community with 20 low tension electricity poles towards the extension of electricity to newly developed areas in the community.
Mr. Kyeremeh praised the MP for the area, Major Derek Oduro (rtd), for donation paints towards the renovation of the local primary school block.
Nana Baffo Korkor 111, a chief of the area, appealed to the assembly members to support the DCE to ensure the development of the area.
He cautioned metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives against the misappropriation of government funds instead of using the money for the development of their communities.
