Joshua Cottey, the former WBA Welterweight champion has said the relationship between him and his trainer, Kwame Asante, ended following Asante’s display of ‘lack of vision’ in his fight against Miguel Cotto.

"I was expecting him to urge me on to go all out, especially in the last round, but he was satisfied with my performance, and allowed my opponent to dominate the last round," were Clottey’s words at the Minister of Youth and Sports’ office in Accra yesterday.

He pointed out that: "Now, I need a trainer who will polish me, I already have the skill, all I need is somebody who will trim the edges."

Clottey told the press that a lot of trainers have expressed interest to work with him as his trainer.

Clottey announced that he has been pitched against Shean Mosley for his next fight.
