Cyber-crime fighters nabbed a jilted Israeli lover who paralysed Omsk airport in Siberia by emailing a bomb threat in the name of the Russian woman who ditched him, an Israeli daily reported on Friday.

Russian investigators quickly realised the woman had nothing to do with the 6 August threat that brought the airport to a standstill for several hours, and Interpol asked Israeli police to look into the case, the Maariv newspaper said.

A unit specialised in cyber-crime tracked down the suspect, an unemployed netaholic in his twenties, originally from Omsk.

The man admitted he acted out of spite for the young woman who jilted him.
