A Romanian man suffered only minor injuries when he fell out of a fourth storey window — while he was asleep.

Marius Purcariu fractured his leg and broke a rib after falling from the window, before he was found on the bonnet of a car, wrapped in a curtain.

The 32-year-old from Arad says he has no memory of the incident, reports ananova.com.

"I remember turning off the TV and going to sleep around 2am. Then I heard noises and my wife was calling my name from the window. I was very lucky I guess," Purcariu said.

Doctors say Purcariu was sleepwalking and that the fact he was asleep (and thus relaxed) may have saved his life.
