Double bacon hamburger fatty melt  (Adam Kuban)

Here are some tidbits from around the world of burgers, just for you hungry hamburger lovers.

First, Rays Hellburger, the famous haunt of the President and vice president of the US of A, is slated to open a new location in Washington DC, to better serve our burger loving commander in chief, as well as hungry tourists and any government cubicle slaves who can afford a cheeseburger.
According to The Washington Business Journal, a new Ray’s Hell Burger will open in the coming months at 2465 18th St. NW in a building that formerly housed the Ghana Cafe, which did not renew its lease. The address is smack in the middle of one of the city’s liveliest entertainment districts.

No opening date has been announced, yet, but be sure to stop by if you’re visiting the nations capital.

If you’re planning a trip to Wisconsin, be sure to enjoy a Leinenkugel beer or two, and a great place to try the states fine beers would perhaps be The Anchor Grill and Bar in Superior. Located on the south shore of (duh) Lake Superior, The Anchor is one of those wonderful dive bars that we all love.
The menu is split into three categories; 1/3 pound burgers, bigger burgers, and other grub.  All burgers are cooked well or medium well, but you can have your onions raw or cooked, depending upon your preference. Don’t expect the best service in the world and you won’t be disappointed.
What makes this greasy spoon different from hundreds of other burger emporiums is the 1/3 lb Cashew Burger. It’s topped with cheese, onions, and raw cashews, and the menu states, “remember you saw it here first.” The crunch of the cashews and the dripping juice of the meat must make for an epic burger experience. Oh, and the prices are downright cheap. The cashew burger is only $3.75!

Hamburgers? Bad taste?
The two usually don’t go together.
Unless we’re talking about tattoos of burgers on hairy, manly, bodies.
I really don’t have the words to describe the sheer weirdness of having a permanent picture of a sandwich on your body, but at least a few people thought it was a good idea:

Thanks, and more photos at Food Network

Oh, and the photo of the extreme burger at the top of the page? Its called the double bacon hamburger fatty melt .
Heres the deal:

  • Bacon-stuffed grilled cheese sandwich as bun top
  • Cheese
  • Bacon
  • Four-ounce beef patty
  • Bacon-stuffed grilled cheese sandwich as interstitial bun (a nod to the Big Mac)
  • Bacon
  • Cheese
  • Four-ounce beef patty
  • Bacon-stuffed grilled cheese sandwich as bun bottom

Thanks to Adam Kuban for the ‘recipe’ and the photo.
No, I haven’t personally made or eaten one. I’m actually  planning to live for a couple more years.
But rumor has it that there is a restaurant in Fleetwood PA called the  Village Butcher, located somewhere on main street, that will serve a very similar sandwich which they call the "Cop Killer" (their name) to anybody who walks in.
