New sports website launched

GNA – A new video based sports website aimed at providing exclusive on line sports news and audio visual images to Ghanaian football fans has been launched in Accra.
The site with a website name of www.ghanasports.tv, will offer news and videos on a wide range of sporting disciplines including local traditional disciplines like ludo, oware, draught and ampe.
Jude Anim, Director of Communications and Public Relations of the Website at the launching of the website, said his outfit is bringing a unique feature to aid sports coverage in the country.
According to Anim, sports fans will now be presented with an opportunity to watch highlights of local and international games at their convenience on the website.
He said the site has also created a talent hunt section which allows individuals across the length and breath of the country to upload unto the site their personal videos aimed at providing young talents the platform to market their talents.
Anim said the website will not be limited to Ghana but will provide adequate coverage to stories around the continent and the world in general.
He noted that plans are in place to make the site a viable and reliable source of information for all, adding that the site will enhance the image of Ghana sports.
Kweku Amankomah-Hinneh, Deputy Editor of the website, said their decision to come out with a video-based website came about after an extensive research on the needs of the Ghanaian sporting public.
He said the site will also provide opportunity for ace sports journalists to write incisive articles on topical issues on various sporting disciplines for the public.
The Deputy Editor said they are aware of the intense competition but are determined to survive and make a mark to the sporting public.
