GNA – Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) defeated Motor

Traffic Transport Unit (MTTU) of the Ghana Police Service 1-0 in the finals to win a special

football gala played at the Legon Ajax Park on Saturday.
The game, which formed part of activities marking the 10th anniversary celebrations of the

National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) and Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority

(DVLA), saw both teams piling up pressure but failed to score as they squandered obvious

goal scoring chances still half time.
On resumption of play, GPRTU redoubled efforts and snatched the winner 10 minutes

inside the second half through Nana Antwi when he scored from a close angle.
MTTU launched a last minute onslaught but the defence of their opponents managed to

wither the storm.
On their way to the finals, MTTU beat Metro Mass Transport Limited 4-3 on penalties

and eliminated the combined team of NRSC and DVLA 3-2 on penalties while GPRTU

edged out Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority 1-0.
The ‘Best Player’ award was won by Obeng Ampadu of MTTu while Kwame Sarfo of

NRSC/DVLA won the ‘Best Goalkeeper’ award.
The celebration was on the theme: “Road Safety is a shared and collective

responsibility’
