Mimi Nana Owusua Ellis is the new Manager of the Ring Road branch of the First National Savings and Loans (FNSL).

A self motivated, focused and proactive team player, Mimi comes into her new position with rich experience; having worked in the Ghanaian and UK retail banking for five years. She also has a 3 year relevant market research experience in the UK service sector.

Until FNSL employed her sometime this year, Mimi had since February 2006, worked at the 2020 Research Limited, Milton Keynes, UK, as Research Analyst where she conducted market research for clients ranging from government agencies to private companies through telephone interviews majority of which were done by “cold calling”; Conduct product feedback surveys among consumers of various goods and services and identified client business needs using, the simulation tools – researching, identifying and testing potential solutions through the collection of appropriate data.

From January 2004 to December 2005, Mimi worked at the Barclays Bank PLC, London & Milton Keynes, UK as Personal Banker/ Financial Advisor. Part of her duties included marketing, recommending and the sale of financial products to clients; the generation of business leads for other business units of the bank and the handling of customer queries and complaints. She also opened new accounts and conducted financial reviews for clients.

For three years- September 2003 to October 2003, she worked as Personal Banker/ Service Quality Officer at the SG-SSB Bank Limited in Accra. She picked up the rudiments of banking at the SG-SSB Bank Limited where she handled with sheer brilliance customer requests and enquiries in the branch; measured and monitored service quality in 18 branches by conducting customer feedback surveys and ensured that the bank’s branches were logistically equipped to handle daily operations.

She also dealt with customer enquiries, complaints and grievances that had escalated from branches; liaised between the bank’s branches and support units to solve problems in the branches; made recommendations, where necessary for the provision of adequate training for staff members where necessary and made recommendations (in monthly reports) for the improvement of internal and external customer service delivery

Mimi graduated from the School of Administration, University of Ghana, Legon with BSc. Admin (Banking & Finance) in July 2000, after passing her Ordinary and Advanced Level examinations at the Wesley Girls’ High School, Cape Coast.
