Mr Appiah Kubi, Assemblyman for Ofankor Asofan electoral area, says churches in Ghana must endeavour to offer support to the communities they begun operations from when things begin to flourish.

Although he failed to mention names, he added that he knows some renowned churches in the country that began their ministries from primary school blocks, but later turn a blind eye to those schools when things become better for them.

“Some of these churches have put up big schools and hospitals, but have not even thought of helping the school blocks where they started their church activities,” Mr Kubi said.

Mr Appiah Kubi made these pronouncements at the annual harvest of the Ofankor Asofan Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) over the weekend.

He stressed: “What even baffles me is that some of these churches used the furniture of the schools to the extent of damaging them, but they now have the wherewithal to put up universities and big companies.”

He further advised churches to refrain from ignoring their origins, especially places they began their ministries “when things become rosy” by helping the communities as well.
