GNA – Mr. Alfred Ofori Annye, Brong-Ahafo Regional Youth

Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Monday warned against perceived

factionalism among the rank and file of the party.
He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that the party lost power in the

2008 general election because of complacency and it was time members avoided tendencies

that could bring divisions in the party.
Mr. Annye, who has joined the race for the position of regional secretary of the NPP,

said “now that the party is in opposition, there is the need to get somebody like me to steer

the party’s affairs towards a resounding victory in 2012″.
He said the Brong-Ahafo Region is a region that could make the difference in any national

election “and when given the nod I will continue with my good job, which was manifested

during the last election in the region”.
“Attaining a standard is not as difficult as maintaining a standard”, Mr. Annye said and

gave assurance he would do everything possible to maintain the standard he had set as the

youth organiser of the party in the region.
He appealed to disgruntled members to rekindle their political spirit and step up the

campaign drive to woo more people into the party to wrestle power from the National

Democratic Congress (NDC).
Touching on the performance of the NDC, Mr. Annye stated that “Ghanaians are the best

judges because for the past 11 months nothing good has been noticed but only dismissals

and high prices of fuel and other commodities”.
Mr. Annye stated the NDC government had brought extra hardships to the citizenry and

urged Ghanaians to ensure that the NPP regained power in 2012 by voting massively for the

party to enable it to continue with its laudable policies and programmes.
