The Effiduase District Chief Executive, Kwadwo Adae, has refuted allegations that there is a stale relationship between the executives of the Effiduase Zongo branch of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and himself thereby making him unpopular there.
He told this reporter in an interview that he was very popular among the members of his party at both the Asokore and Effiduase Zongos and described the rumours going around as false.
“It is very surprising that some people would be going round peddling untruth about me and my people. I enjoy full support from my people including the Asokore Paramountcy and the Effiduase sub traditional council; all the chiefs support my activities,” he insisted.
Hon. Adae however admitted that a few people at the Effiduase Zongo, who had been incited by the former constituency chairman still had qualms about him but that, he pointed did not mean he had problems with all his people.
He said the new chairman and executives of the Effiduase Zongo branch of the party were solidly behind him and so was majority of the people and the very few people who wanted to cause trouble in the constituency would not succeed, however admitting that the party needed everybody on board to help in the governance of the state.
Kwadwo Adae also denied allegations that his name had been found in a list of District Chief Executives to be dismissed soon if certain conditions were not met.
He said the government would never unilaterally take a decision for the removal of a DCE because of an allegation about him, adding that “It is only when it has been established beyond reasonable doubt that he really misconducted himself.”
“Having worked with my sector minister for sometime, I have known that he is not the type of person who will just recommend the removal of a person just because of rumours,” he noted confidently.
