GOD WILL REBUKE THE DEVOURER

“The thief comes to steal, and to kill and to destroy but I have come so that they might have life, and have it in abundance”. The primary mission of Jesus Christ is clearly stated in this text while the destructive nature of the Devil has also been revealed so that believers will be wary of Satan’s antics, resist him, and depend on Jesus Christ for victory. The devil hates whatever is good. He is anti- progress and dislike success and breakthrough which everyone aspire to attain in life. As you struggle in life to achieve success and live a good life through hard work in business, profession, education. Satan on the other side, through his agents are also monitoring your progress so that they can destroy whatever success you might have attained.

Satan also show delight in people who disobey God, because he has the knowledge of divine security for those who obey God and he also know that once a person disobeys God he automatically forfeits the divine immunity and he will begin to operate in such people for destruction. Satan is a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. His target is primarily the back sliding Christians. He also aims at believers whose faith in God is not strong enough to stand against temptation.

Which is the special weapon Satan uses to derail people from the love of God. Take note, Satan is like a footballer who dribbles his way through effective skills; agility and tactics in order to mesmerize dismantle and disorganize the defensive mechanism of the opponent thereby making the goal keeper helpless so that he can score a goal.

God has provided effective defensive mechanism for all believers who relentlessly obey and serve Him truthfully. Our weapon of warfare should not be carnal because Satan’s operations are mainly carried out in the spiritual. Many people are still walking around looking healthy and robust but spiritually witches and wizards have imprisoned them as goats waiting to be slaughtered.

Some people are engaged in lucrative business, good job etc but at the end, nothing tangible in terms of profit or success could be seen in them. Why? it is because, the devourer has set into their finances. As they receive money, they spend it on unnecessary non-profit making ventures. They may even be duped by 419 and invariably all their finances goes down the drain. Imagine a beautiful woman with a good job but without a husband nor children. Everyman who comes her way uses her and abandon her. Why? It is because the devil through his agents such as mammy water, demons and other familiar spirits have possessed the victim. The same applies to men who are in their forties and fifties and are unable to marry just because they are possessed and married to marine spirits. Can you imagine a brilliant young man after graduating from the university decides to travel outside the country for greener pasture and greater accomplishment but through satanic manipulations and devourers captivity end up as drug addicts, return to his country as a nuisance . what about, ill luck , failure and disappointment. can you recapitulate how many people who have promised to help you secure good job and have failed you woefully. Your uncles, aunties’ relatives and friends have on several occasions boastfully promised to assist you financially to pursue your education and business. Your hope and aspirations hit the rock because they failed to fulfill their promises. These people may have genuine intention to assist you but due to the manipulations of the devourers who are always against your progress, they change their mind. God have mercy on us. To some people hatred marks have been inserted in their bodies such that those who love them will suddenly change their attitude and develop incessant hatred towards them without any reason.

Unfortunately, many Christians who are supposed to know the weapon to overcome devourers often ignore the biblical principles concerning the works of the devil.

To overcome the devourers please take note of the following antidotes:

1. BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE ON GOOD HEALTH

God said to us in Exodus 15: 26 “And Said, If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord your God and will do that which is right in his sight and will give ear to his commandments and keep his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you which I have brought upon the Egyptians for I am the Lord who heals you” .

Total obedience to God’s instruction gives the assurance of good health, healing of all sicknesses and deliverance from spiritual attacks, and other demonic activities.

Isaiah 53: 5 also confirm believers healing and deliverance through the Blood of Jesus Christ.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed”

All the punishments Jesus Christ received before, during and after his crucifixion brought healing and deliverance to those who accept his death and resurrection into their lives. Our divine Immunity against devourers of our health is embedded in the obedience of God’s instruction.

2. BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE TO FIGHT AGAINST FINANCIAL DEVOURER

“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sake and he shall not destroy the fruit of your ground neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field saith the Lord of host. This is the covenant God made with himself for those who honor him with their tithe or offering. The reason for the rise and fall which many wealthy people experience could be traced to their deliberate refusal to honor God in their tithe and offerings. Those who claim to pay tithe more often than not end up embarrassing God because they refuse to pay the correct tithe.

My experience as a pastor has revealed that it is the middle income earners or businessmen/ women and the low income earners who always strive to pay their tithes correctly. We need to understand the principle of tithing accurately and endeavor to apply it.

So that God will bless us abundantly and also rebuke the devourer. It is his desire that we prosper in every areas of our lives. Philippians 4: 19 “but my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Please you can also read Deuteronomy 28:15 which highlights blessings accruable to obedient Christians.

3) BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE FOR PROTECTION AND VICTORY

“Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high place. Therefore take unto you the whole Armour of God that you may withstand in the evil day and having done all, stand firm”

If we apply these principles into our Christian life, definitely, we will have what it takes to overcome the devourer. The armour of God is His words which contain Power and Anointing with Instructions, Training in Righteousness, Rebuking and admonishing which every believer should receive and apply without hesitation.God bless you
