Free Surgery for People With Deformed Lips
Posted by on February 9, 2010 at 11:22 am in Other Top StoriesRotary Club of Accra West, a Social and Voluntary organization is, in collaboration with Alliance for Smiles, an International organization, which specializes in correcting cleft palate deformities, organizing a free medical screening and surgery for people with labial deformities.
A cleft lip is a condition that creates an opening in the upper lip between the mouth and the nose and looks as though there is a split in the lip. This can however, be corrected through surgery.
A team of Alliance for Smiles surgeons from the United States of America are expected in the country to carry out the free surgery on the 8th and 15th of February 2010 at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
A press release from Rotary Club of Accra West, which was signed by the Club Secretary Henry Kom, said “the target group for this free surgery is the needy and the less privileged in society.”
