The Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfantseman West, Mr Aquinas Tawiah Quansa, has presented poly tanks to 54 communities in his constituency.

The 54, out of 115 communities, each received 850-gallon capacity poly tank to enable them have access to potable drinking water.

Presenting the items to the beneficiary communities, the MP said his gesture was necessitated by the plight of the people who had to depend on salty borehole water as their only source of drinking water.

Mr Quansa disclosed the donation of the poly tanks will be done in phases until all the 54 communities are provided with water.

He said the measure was his short-term plan to solve the perennial water problem in the area, and therefore expressed the hope that the people will manage the water well until he is able to find permanent solution to the problem by the end of his first term in office.

He advised the beneficiaries to sell the water to enable them raise funds to fill the tank when they become empty.

He added that the Mankessim Market has been added to the Cape Coast Market project and will soon take off to ease congestion at Mankessim.

According to him, electricity will also be connected to the only clinic in Mankessim to enable residents have access to health care delivery.

The MP for Mfantseman East, Mr George Kuntu Blankson, advised the people to reciprocate the gesture by their MP by voting for him in the next election to enable him give them more of such projects.

He noted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government was a listening government and urged them not to hesitate in voicing out their concerns to the MP who would in turn carry it them to the president to be solved.
Mr Blankson advised the people to eschew acts that will hinder the peaceful atmosphere at their communities and embrace peace to enable their communities develop.

Some of the beneficiary communities included Essaikrom, Obontsir, Nsaadze, Daaman and Twafo among others.
