Book on Kufuor’s achievements launched

A book on the achievements of former President Kufuor entitled ‘Kufuor and the Distinct Ghana’ has been unveiled in Accra.
The Book, which was written by Rev. Hayford Twum, the Head Pastor of the Living Chapel International in Accra, highlights the immense contributions and achievements of former President Kufuor under his 8-year term as president.
The MP for Sekondi Constituency and former Education Science and Sports Minister, Papa Owusu Ankomah, who launched the book, indicated that the book seeks to honour ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor and his capabilities during his term in office.
According to him, ex-president Kufuor was passionate about the nation’s future and therefore introduced democracy and the rule of law in the country.
“It is his services and commitment that inspired and encouraged most of his ministers during his tenure in office,” the former minister stated.
He explained that the services of president Kufuor encouraged some of them and made them committed to the task Ghanaians gave to them.
“It is my prayer that all readers of this book will be inspired, motivated and encouraged about being committed in whatever they do,” he emphasized.
He stressed that ‘Kufuor And The Distinct Ghana’ is a book with 15 chapters and 195 pages compiled together to honour the capabilities and commitment of ex-president Kufuor.
To the author, Rev. Twum, all manner of people find hope in his counsel and directions and believed that his book on Kufuor’s administration will go a long way to inspire and urge on readers yearning for success in life.
Chapters 1 and 2 of the book contain the biography of ex-president Kufuor, his hospitality and emphasize that he has been a ‘Seer’ not a ‘looker’ and never tribal.
Chapters 3 and 4 touch on the good governance and the massive infrastructural development and the President’s Special Initiatives (PSI) pioneered by the Kufuor administration.
Chapters 5 and 6 talk about the National Reconciliation Commission, seizure of the Criminal Libel Law and Kufuor’s phenomenal tenure.
7 and 8 also talk about the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the favourable transit, which is (HIPC).
9 and 10 stress on the beefing up of the security apparatus and the building of the presidential palace.
Chapters 11 and 12 are on the redenomination of the cedi, which became known as the ‘Kufuor Dollar’ and Ghana is head in high esteem by queen of London, via Kufuor.
The last chapters 13, 14 and 15 explain the concept of the National Identification Authority (NIA) and inspiring leaders to be committed.
