The Black Stars of Ghana are set to pitch camp in Pretoria in South Africa ahead of this summer’s World Cup finals.
A Sowetan sports website quoted a Local Organizing Committee source to have revealed that the West African country opted for Pretoria instead of Mpumalanga due to weather conditions.
“Their decision has absolutely nothing to do with the facilities in Mpumalanga. In fact, Ghana were impressed with the facilities there.
“I think it is more to do with the weather conditions, they needed an environment similar to where they will be playing their group stages matches,” the source said.
The Ghana national team camped in Nelspruit for two weeks before leaving for the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
Ghana is in Group D with Germany, Australia and Serbia.
