Accreditation of Journalists for the 2009 Glo-CAF Awards ceremony has commenced.
The forms have been posted on the official websites of Globacom Limited and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Officials of CAF and Globacom have said that only accredited Journalists would be admitted into the venue to cover the event. A statement from the company explained that the accreditation procedure has been put in place to ensure orderliness and provide easy access for the media the State House Banquet Hall.
"The awards ceremony is to a large extent, a media event and Globacom and CAF highly appreciate the contributions of the media to the growing international stature of the event.
We will continue to provide the enabling environment for the media to cover the event and also enjoy the experience", a Globacom official said in Lagos. The forms can be down-loaded from the CAF website, www.cafonline.com and from the Globacom website, www.gloworld.com.
The statement also noted that the forms are free of any costs and advised Journalists to disregard anyone demanding for payment for the forms. It further stated that forms not returned on or before Friday, March 5, will not be considered, adding that "accreditation is strictly the prerogative of CAF and Globacom".
The two organisations said that accreditation will be issued to a determined number of media houses, noting that "it is not all applicants for the accreditation that will be successful".
