The Victory Bible Church International (VBCI) will launch its 25th anniversary on Saturday 13th March, 2010 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on the theme “Celebrating the goodness of God.”

VBCI is a charismatic church which aims at converting people within the community and helping them to grow into fully functioning followers of Jesus Christ.

VBCI was founded by Bishop Rt. Rev Nii Apiakai Tackie-Yarboi on 2nd June, 1985 and now has over 70 branches in Ghana, Africa, Europe and across the globe.

VBCI is a member of the Ghana Pentecostal Council and its social responsibility is focused on assisting needy but brilliant children to go to school through its scholarship scheme.

The church also exists to shape the religious lives of families in Christ Jesus and to equip them with God’s word.
The Chairman of the Anniversary Committee, Elder Reginald Sackey-Addo, has hinted that the year-long celebration will provide the church the opportunity to thank God for all His goodness for the past 25years and a time of re-dedication and total dependence on God for the years ahead.

“The Anniversary Committee will be employing the gifts and talents of individuals in the church to augment its work thus making the celebration a family affair,” said Elder Sackey-Addo.

Rt. Rev. N. A. Tackie-Yarboi’s emphasis will be on the need for the church to celebrate the goodness of God towards him.
According to Bishop Tackie-Yarboi, it is always important for the church not to forget the things that God do.
“Leadership must always leave a legacy that future generations can hold on to make what they inherited much better than they met it,” he emphasized.

He said prayers will be held for the nation, so that growth and development will be experienced by all citizens of this great land, Ghana.

The bishop at the inauguration of the anniversary committee praised both the past government and the current government for the continuous growth, development, peace and stability in the nation, and said more needs to be done to improve the living conditions of ordinary Ghanaians.

“We have all the infrastructure in place, our economists say the economy is taking shape among others but the ordinary Ghanaian must be able to feel it and that is the challenge for government,” Bishop Tackie Yarboi expressed.
He urged Ghanaians to continue to pray for peace in the country and wisdom for all those in power.

Activities lined-up for the year-long celebration include family games, donation to orphanage, musical concerts, health walk, crusades, seminars, evangelism outreach programmes, anniversary service, with the climax being the inauguration of HOREB, the church’s five thousand-seater auditorium at Awoshie.
