Kasoa Police embarks on anti-armed robbery operations

GNA – The Kasoa district Police Headquarters has embarking on a special anti armed robbery eradication campaign and has therefore appealed to the people to cooperate towards its success.
   The Kasoa district Police commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jordan Quaye made the appeal in a press release issued at Kasoa and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Winneba on Tuesday.
   He said during the operation, unannounced spot checks at crime prone points would be conducted on vehicles and passengers, luggage for offensive weapons, dangerous implements and wanted criminals.
   DSP Quaye said information reaching the Police indicates that, most of the armed robbers chased out of Accra and Kumasi, have taken refuge in Kasoa.
   The Police commander said "during the day, they spy on their targets and end up in drinking spots, restaurants and hotels to wine, dine and plan strategies on how to strike".
   "We sincerely regret any inconvenience and hope motorists and passengers will bear with us, especially at nigh, since it is in their own interest".
   The Police Commander therefore urged the general public to be vigilant and also call the Police if they sight any unusual movement of persons and vehicles on telephone numbers 021862083 and 0242232442.
