Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has spoken to reassure defender Kolo Toure that the defender does have a future at Eastlands.
The Ivorian has found himself benched recently as Joleon Lescott and Vincent Kompany forged a solid looking partnership at the back for the Citizens.
Toure has made just five appearances since the turn of the year, due partly to the African Cup of Nations and a knee injury.
But his inability to win a place back in the side despite being fit again does not mean that the player should be thinking about leaving, according to Mancini.
“He is ok now and still very important for us,” the City boss said, according to The Daily Mirror.
