Haruna Iddrisu To Apologize To Rawlings

Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Member of Parliament for Tamale South Constituency has come under heavy pressure as a group called friends of Rawlings in his constituency, the Tamale Central Constituency has asked him to render an unqualified apology to NDC party founder Jerry John Rawlings.
The group noted with deep concern that Haruna Iddrisu’s gross disrespect to the NDC founder had gone out of proportion and for that matter it is expedient that the Minster of communication apologize to Jerry Rawlings.
Speaking to Citi News at Lamashegu soon after the group’s weekly meetings, Abass Seidu spokesperson to the friends of Rawlings gave Haruna Iddrisu three days to meet their demand or suffer its repercussions.
Abass Seidu made reference to Thursday March 18 edition of Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show where Harunah Iddrisu allegedly insulted Jerry Rawlings’ integrity for saying that it will be difficult for him to campaign during the next elections because Ghanaians were getting disappointed in the NDC government.
According to the Tamale south constituency friends of Rawlings youth group spokesperson; Harunah said former President Rawlings will suffer more than any party member if the party loses power in the next elections.
“We have had enough of his disrespect for the elderly in Tamale and that should not by extension disrepute the hard won reputation of our god father who sacrificed his life to form the NDC which he is enjoying today as a cabinet minister” Abass charged.
“We will not spare our MP if he fails to comply with the directive given within the stipulated period.
