Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North Constituency, has warned that he will not hesitate to gun down the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Assin North district and NDC executives in the Assin North Constituency.

According to the MP, he has empirical evidence to suggest that some high-profile members of the NDC, including the DCE of the area, Kwabena Kakari-Apau, are hatching a plot to undermine an ongoing project in his constituency.

Speaking on Accra-based Oman fm yesterday, the NPP firebrand disclosed that he is privy to a meeting the DCE held with some NDC executives in the constituency in which a grand plot was designed to malign and subsequently have him assassinated.

Although he averred that a formal complaint has been lodged at the Assin district police command, he warned to take on the NDC executives himself if the police fail to act appropriately.

Hon. Agyapong could not comprehend why some Ghanaians will resolve to frustrate a business project he has invested more than $10million just because he belongs to a different political party.

“The matter has been reported to the Assin police station. But let me use this medium to inform whoever is listening to me at this juncture that I will personally crash them out myself if the police fail to act.

…“The DCE and the rest of the NDC executives in the constituency should have it at the back of their minds that if their party is in government that does not mean they have the license to persecute people or organise meetings to assassinate their political opponent,” Hon Ohene Agyapong furiously asserted.

Hon. Ohene Agyapong, who is affectionately referred to as ‘Akumpreko’ in media circles, further minced no words in stating that he would not mine declaring war between supporters of the two main political parties (NPP and NDC) in the constituency, pontificating that he is prepared to sacrifice his life.

“Some of us are not afraid to die to fight these hooligans who have by mistake found themselves in the helm of affairs of this country. Why? A lot of people have died for mother Ghana and it will not be out of place for me to die for the unborn generation,’ Hon Agyapong bluntly stated.

Hon. Ohene Agyapong who was in his best of elements and could not even be calmed down by the interventions of the host of the programme, Fiifi Boafo, and the rest of the panel members that included Bernard Mornah, the General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), stressed to kill his saboteurs in the constituency if they do not refrain from such attitudes.

Against that background, Akumpreko contended that he has tapes of some meetings the DCE has held with some NDC members in the area and warned to make them available to some radio stations before the close of the week. He further lamented that the trend if not checked will derail government’s efforts to lure investors into the country adding that the onus is on government to act now.
