Korle-bu on Fire

Information monitored on peacefm indicates that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Substation E at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, in Accra, has caught fire.

Confirming the incident to Peace FM on the “Kokrokoo” programme, an eyewitness who gave his name as Bismark, said though the Fire Service had not arrived at the scene, the workers of the hospital had tried putting out the fire, using ordinary fire extinguishers.

The substation, according to Bismark, is located directly behind the Radiology Department and the Emergency Unit.

He added that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) did some work at the substation yesterday, maintaining some of their equipment but unfortunately this morning, it caught fire.

Currently, there is a power-outage at the Blood Bank, the Emergency Unit and areas linked to the sub-station.
