National Guard Says Ghana Mission Going Well

The North Dakota Air National Guard says a two-week humanitarian mission to the African nation of Ghana is going well despite a high heat index.

The 34 members of the Fargo-based 119th Wing Civil Engineer Squadron are about halfway through their mission. They are helping renovate two buildings.

The North Dakota National Guard and the Republic of Ghana have been participating since 2004 in a Defense Department-sponsored partnership program that pairs a state`s Army and Air National Guard with another country, to develop economic, political and military ties.
