Upper East NPP Issues Ultimatum To Thieving Executives
Posted by on May 31, 2010 at 11:18 am in Local, PoliticsThe New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) firm believe in property owning democracy, which knew no bounds is beginning to generate division in the party as some members are being hunted for running away with the party’s property.
The NPP in power never hid its penchant for grabbing state properties and now that there appears to be none for its people to loot, they have turned to the party’s properties to the annoyance of some executives.
And in a no nonsense move, the Upper East Regional Executives of the NPP have issued a stern warning to especially the immediate past regional executives who are said to have the party’s vehicles in their possession to return them today, Monday May 31st, 2010 or incur the wrath of the executives.
According to Mr Yaw Morde, the Regional Organiser of the party, the immediate past executives after leaving office bolted with seven vehicles belonging to the region and all attempts made to get those vehicles back have proved futile.
He said, in sharing the cars among themselves, the immediate past chairman took 3, the secretary 2, regional organizer 1 and 1st vice chairman 1. “These vehicles are all physical properties of the NPP and they have all been registered in the name of the party”, he revealed.
Mr Morde noted that, immediately they (new executives) took over the administration of the party from the past executives, they resorted to dialogue to get back to the cars back but their efforts did not yield any results. “We are therefore going to use force to get those cars and by Monday May 31st, if the cars are not returned to the office we shall apply force to get them”, he warned.
It will be recalled that the NPP after leaving office in January 2008 bolted with most state vehicles and it took the intervention of the BNI and some state agencies to get some of the cars back and even with that they denied that those cars belonged to the state.
Now that it is happening in their own party, one hopes that they do not come to deny it.
