Winalite International, a Chinese company that solely produces sanitary pads, has presented a cheque of GH¢1,500 and ten packets of its Moon Love Sanitary pad products to the ministry of health in Accra.
A presentation ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 14th, 2010 at the ministry of health to officially handover the items to the ministry to support the fight against cervical cancer, a deadly disease which is gradually killing Ghanaian women.
The cheque was received by the Director and Administrator, Mrs Karkan-A. Tackie, on behalf of Minister of Health, Dr Benjamin Kunbuor, who was engaged in other activities elsewhere.
Mrs Tackie commended Winalite International for its decision to support the fight against the disease, which she noted, was killing women than any other disease.
She expressed her profound attitude to the management of the company and assured them that the money and the products would be used judiciously for its purpose.
“We are very grateful to Winalite International for this kind gesture and we at the ministry assure them that the items would be used for its purpose to help curb cervical cancer,” she emphasised.
In a remark, the Manager of Winalite International, Mr Cai De Lin, also thanked the health ministry for its commitment to help curb the disease.
He revealed that investigations conducted by China’s ministry of health, indicate that inflammation of the disease can be reduced when sterilization takes place with at least 1,200 negative ions in every cubic centimeter in the air.
“The negative ion chip in love Moon Anion Sanitary Napkin can produce 5,800 negative ions in every cubic centimeter when there is water or blood and produces large quantities of dissociate oxygen which can fight against the bacteria,” he stressed.
