Achimota Masters golf tourney begins tomorrow

The two-day 2nd Achimota Masters, under the sponsorship of Tyre marketing giant, INFINITY, comes off at the Achimota Golf Course tomorrow Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29, 2010.
The event, which involves 64 winners and runners-up of major golf competitors played last year at Achimota, will be played on the shot-gun format, according to the club captain, Mike Aggrey.
Twelve (12) players from the Infinity Group will join their Achimota counterparts in Saturday’s expected thriller.
The winners will qualify to participate in the Dubai Classic Emirates mixed Double tournament, to be held at the Prestigious Golf Club in Dubai.
Infinity, marketers of tyres and batteries in the West Africa Sub-region with product names like Pirelli, Goodyear, Alliance, Ceat, Watts, Delkor and Exide, intends to create an Infinity Golf League in West Africa.
As a demonstration of its commitment to promote quality golf in Ghana, the company sponsored a similar tournament at the Tarkwa Goldfields Golf Club last year May.
The group currently has a state-of-the-art tyre repair unit in the mining belt of Tarkwa.
