Madam Theresa called on Christian women in the country to emulate the example exhibited by Esther in the Bible who allowed herself to be used by God.
She said God has empowered women to propagate his word and as such they should do away with fornication, bitterness, jealousy that have become obstacles hindering the progress of women in the country.
Madam Theresa was speaking on the topic “The Empowerment of Christian Women” at the 8th annual convention of the Apostles Continuation Church International Women’s Fellowship Regional ‘A’ held in Sunyani.
The convention was on the theme: Change the Rule for My sake Oh Lord,” which was taken from Esther 5:1-8.
The regional women’s organizer also called on women to humble themselves to be used by the Holy Spirit.
Dr. Sellasie Addom, from the Regional Hospital Sunyani, called on women to conduct regular checks on their breasts and advised that if they notice a lamp they should not hesitate to report to the hospital for treatment.
“Many women have died because of breast cancer; others too have got their breasts cut off,” lamented Dr. Sellasie
Dr. Addom noted that the time has come for Ghanaian women to erase the misconception that breast cancer is caused by evil spirits. He advised them to seek early treatment when they notice changes in the breasts.
The Sunyani Krontihemaa, Nana Akoma Komah, advised women to desist from invoking curses on their neighbours.
She noted that invoking curses has become rampant in the Sunyani traditional area.
According to her, the Sunyani Traditional Council (STC) has settled a number of curse cases from the beginning of this year.
