The Holy Spirit is our Identity

The universal practice for identifying staff of corporate establishments is the wearing of name tag during working hours.

The identity card confirms that such persons have been officially assigned to carry out business on behalf of the company. When you enter a banking hall, arrival and departure halls at the airport, or see a Military officer or staff of any other well established company, one can easily deduce those officials by the identity card, which bears their names and sometimes their position on their dresses.

With this arrangement, it will be impossible for anybody to impersonate or claim to be working in such office when they are not. The identity card is the property of the company, which has been issued out to all staffs who have been rightfully employed. These staffs are mandated to do business on behalf of the management.

In the light of this illustration and based on Christian perspective, we can assume that anybody who claim to be a Christian, must have something to prove as a child of God.

Since the Bible states in Romans 8 verse 14 that only those who are led by the spirit of GOD are sons of God, it is imperative that everybody who is born again must be born of the spirit of the almighty.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE IDENTITY WHICH EVERY CHRISTIAN NEEDS IN OTHER TO OPERATE IN THE SAME DIMENSION GOD HIMSELF OPERATES. WITHOUT THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT NO ONE CAN REPRESENT GOD EFFECTIVELY.

The Bible explains in Romans 8 verse 9 that anyone who does not live by the spirit can never be part of God’s family because the Bible made us understand that we all have been baptized into one body by the spirit. The Holy Spirit is the special gift, which Christians receive freely from God at the point of our conversion into Christianity, I mean after we might have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the spirit. And if anyone does not have the spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. For we were all baptized by on spirit into one body whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free and we were all given one spirit to drink. One common connecting factor which every Christian must have and should be visible in their good deeds is the Holy Spirit.

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?

Holy Spirit is the third person in God Head called THE HOLY TRINITY. GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT. They are co equal in power, strength, knowledge, ability and grace.
The Holy Spirit is THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER, COMFORTER, COUNSELLOR, SPIRIT OF CHRIST, AND HELPER FROM ABOVE in Acts of Apostles chapter ONE verse 8 Jesus told his Disciples. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in Judea and in Samaria and to the end of the world’’

Why should a Christian be baptized in the Holy Spirit?

A). The Holy Spirit is God the giver of life. No holy Spirit no life. He gives us life , and awaken us into the reality of life and also show us the need to be closely knitted to God for good life He is the healer deliverer, protector, defender, provider, and giver of all good things.

B). The Holy Spirit helps us uphold the biblical principles of Christianity. Without the Holy Spirit, it will be impossible to have faith in God which is the foundation of our belief. There can’t be any genuine love and worship without Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit announces us to the world and testifies to us that we are God’s Children. We cannot live a good Christian life with all its virtues without Holy SPIRIT because it is the Holy Spirit himself who produces all the Christian virtues such as LOVE, JOY, PEACE , GOODNESS , GENTLENESS, KINDNESS AND SELF CONTROL. These are what the bible called ‘’ FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT’’ expressed by those who have been baptized in the Holy Spirit.

C). The Holy Spirit helps us in our prayer life. Prayer is the principal weapon which God gave us to overcome Satan.

A PRAYERLESS CHRISTIAN IS POWERLESS AND COULD EASILY BE MANIPULATED BY THE DEVIL.
However, our prayer must be backed by the Holy Spirit for effective result. Because of our human nature , we cannot understand the thought, will, and mind of God, but the Holy spirit intercedes and pray on our behalf with groan which mouth cannot express. The Holy Spirit knows the thought and will of God for us and presents our request according to God’s will.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, we do not know what to pray for but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit because the spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.

A). You must be born again. Being born again simply means living a new life in Christ, after accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour

B). Confess your sins, Repent and sin no more

C). Establish a good relationship with GOD. Obey all his commandments and endeavor to
D). Enrich yourself with sound knowledge of the Holy words which God gave us in the Holy Bible. Do not let the book of the law depart from your lips .meditate on it day and night Let God ‘s word be the lamp and light unto your path.
E). Avoid hatred, bitterness and excessive anger. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. Love God with all your heart, mind and soul. Love your neighbour as yourself
