ECOBANK Introduces Intra And Inter African Money Transfer

To help facilitate a faster, reliable and convenient transfer of money across and within Africa, Ecobank, has introduced a new money transfer product called Rapid Transfer in Accra on Wednesday.

Speaking at the function, the Managing Director of Ecobank Ghana, Mr. Samuel Ashitey Adjei, said the Rapid transfer which focuses on money movements in all the 30 African countries where Ecobank is present would save customers the risk of carrying huge sums of money to make payments.

He added that, this service would be operational in all the over 750 branches of the bank across the 30 African countries and payments or receipts will be issued in the Ecobank affiliate’s local currency, subject to local exchange control regulations.

“The full amount is delivered to the receiver because the sender has to cater for all the charges,” he disclosed.

The Togolese Ambassador to Ghana and the Leader of the Diplomatic community, His Excellency Jean Pierre, on his part, commended Ecobank for such an initiative and declared the support of the African Diplomatic community to make the Rapid Transfer a success.
