Scrabble – 12 Players in Camp for Africa Tournament

Twelve players have so far reported to the Lagos camp of the Nigeria scrabble team in preparation for the forthcoming Africa Scrabble Championship slated for Accra, Ghana from October 21 to October 24.

The camp, which opened last Monday, has top scrabble players Jighere Wellington, Balogun Rasheed, Emmanuel Umujose, Eta Karo, Cyril Umebiye, Omosefe Prince, Dennis Ikekeregor, Oshodi Sunday, Faloye Ibukun, Saidu Ayorinde, Anthony Ikolo and Wale Ilori.

Scrabble Federation of Nigeria President, Toke Aka said yesterday that the players will be engaged in marathon games to enable them recall all the words they have been studying.

Aka, who praised the players for taking the exercise serious, added that they will play up till Monday, while they will be given a free day to relax before final departure for Accra on Wednesday, October 20.
