Zita launches tourist clubs

The institutions include the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Zenith College and the Graduate School of Management.
In her inaugural message, the tourism minister underscored the need for the youth to appreciate the importance of domestic tourism, as well as active participation in various tourism oriented programs.
“The nation is richly endowed with cultural and historical attraction which could spearhead the basis for a rapid development within the sector in the area of promoting both international and domestic tourism,” the minister said.
The minister charged the tourist clubs to place much emphasis on the youth in an effort to inculcate the culture of traveling and adventure at the early stages (especially sightseeing) to help boost domestic tourism.
“I wish to commend the head teachers, including heads of departments and teachers with individuals who have embraced this laudable initiative of exposing our young ones to the diverse historical and cultural attractions,” the minister observed.
She further pledged her continued support to ensure that the tourist clubs in these schools gets the necessary assistance required for their programs and activities.
The minister also urged corporate bodies, organizations and individuals- including parents and guardians- to support this noble course and thus yield the expected results.
