President John Mills has summoned all his security chiefs and is currently locked up in a crunch meeting with them at the Castle, Osu.

According to Citi News sources, the President will inspire and challenge the security heads to do more in reducing crime and as well, demand explanations for the recent happenings on the nation’s security front.

Attempts to re-arrest notorious jail breaker Johnson Kombian and allegations that the police burnt about 20 houses in the Nankpanduri area in search of the criminal are expected to feature prominently at the meeting.

Communications Director at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho in an interview told Citi News that recent cases of murder and other criminal activities is a bother to the President and would want to find a definite solution to the issues.

He added that although the police have reported a reduction in recorded criminal activities in the country this year compared to the same period last year, the recent spate of criminal activity is what has prompted the president to step in strongly and insist that the military and police fight crime directly.

“The President wants to get to the bottom of the reported rape, we have run checks and the police say no such thing has been reported, we have run checks with the OAA Transport Company and they say all their buses are intact, so the President is calling his security chiefs, we need to get to the bottom of this, if it is a fabrication then we need to get to the bottom of it and find the culprit”.

Koku Anyidoho added that the IGP, Paul Tawiah Quaye, Chief of Defense Staff, Minister of Interior, Minister of Defense and some Officials from the National Security outfit were at the meeting
